Analisis Sintaksis pada Kalimat Imperatif di Naskah Film Suicide Squad

Abstract


The Suicide Squad is an action movie that was released in 2016 and directed by David Ayer. This movie tells the story of how a group of criminals assigned by the United States government to protect the
country from attacks by evil wizards. This action is called a suicide group (Suicide Squad). Because this movie is an action, many characters use imperative sentences in communication. The imperative sentence includes
command, request, invitation and warning. This study aims to explain the function of imperative sentences in the Suicide Squad movie (2016) by David Ayer. The data research was taken from the Suicide Squad movie
script (2016) directed by David Ayer. The researcher used the observation method to determine the data to be analyzed. The purposive sampling method was used to take data samples. The data research was taken by
reading the entire text, then grouped the data to the imperative sentences based on the theory. The researcher analyzed the function of imperative sentence based on Aarts and Aarts (1982) theory. The data found in the
Suicide Squad movie script (2016) were 175 imperative sentences. From the results of the analysis conducted, it was concluded that the imperative sentence function in the Suicide Squad movie script (2016) found more
imperative sentences that function as commands.
