KEEFEKTIFAN BIMBINGAN KELOMPOK DENGAN TEKNIK PROBLEM SOLVING DAN SELF MANAGEMENT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN SELF EFFICACY PESERTA DIDIK

Abstract


Self-efficacy is required by students to face various learning problems.
The current study was aimed at obtaining empirical data on to what extent
group guidance with problem-solving and self-management technique is
capable of improving students’ self-efficacy in SMP Negeri 34 Semarang. This pretest-Posttest experimental design involved 27 students of SMP Negeri 34 Semarang. They were selected using purposive sampling technique. The participants were divided into three groups, problem-solving group, selfmanagement group, and control group. The instrument
of the study was the selfefficacy scale. The data were analyzed using Wilcoxon, Kruskal-Wallis test. This study concluded that group guidance with problem-solving and selfmanagement technique are effective to enhance students’ self-efficacy in SMP Negeri 34 Semarang. Wilcoxon test shows that the significance value of experimental group A was 0,008 < 0,05, the significance value of group B was 0,008 < 0,05. Kruskal-Wallis test result shows that the score of self-efficacy between pretest group was 0,000 < 0,05, meaning that there is a difference of Posttest score of self-efficacy among the groups. Based on the result of the study, the school counselor can apply group guidance with problem solving and self management technique as an attempt to improve students’ self-efficacy.
