KONSTRUKSI SOAL KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR TINGKAT TINGGI (HOTS) DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA SMP

Abstract


The main purpose of the education system is to teach students how to apply mathematics in various contexts. High-level thinking skills (HOTS), such as logical thinking, critical thinking, and reasoning skills are basic skills for daily life, apart from academic achievement in school. High-level thinking skills (HOTS) are the cognitive level abilities of students in analyzing, evaluating, or creating a given problem, so that it is expected that critical, creative, and logical thinking arises. Analysis capability (C4) can be defined as the ability to break intact material into parts and inter-sections can be connected to one another. The ability to evaluate (C5) is defined as the ability to consider based on predetermined criteria. While the ability to create (C6) is to arrange or place elements into new patterns or structures.
The purpose of this study is to explain high-level skills, their importance,
and how to implement them in junior high school mathematics learning.
This type of research used in library research. The researcher constructed
several questions based on a limited literature review related to
mathematics learning in junior high, both in the numbers, geometry,
algebra, statistics / opportunity categories. HOTS has an important meaning in improving student achievement, motivation, and in the assessment of international standard tests it is always used. The implementation in junior high school mathematics learning is to use verbs related to C4-C6 level in compiling questions. Compilation of questions can also be done by changing the construction of LOTS questions to HOTS.
