KARAKTERISTIK KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR TINGKAT TINGGI (HOTS) DALAM SOAL STANDAR UJIAN NASIONAL MATEMATIKA SMP

Abstract


Fostering high-level thinking skills for students is considered an important
educational goal. Realizing the importance of high-level thinking skillsbased learning, the purpose of this study was to determine the
characteristics of HOTS mathematics junior high school questions. The
research method used in this study is the study of literature by examining
national exam standard question documents. The characteristics of HOTS
questions are special features that are inherent to questions that ask the
ability to think at a high level both in terms of the ability to analyze,
evaluate, or create. Following are the characteristics of HOTS; (1) asking
about the ability in terms of analyzing, evaluating, or creating; (2) nonroutine questions; (3) related to the problem-based daily context; (4)
answers allow divergent (many solutions); (5) the problem has complexity
(not once understood); (6) allows for various points of view; (7) the presence of stimulation in the form of tables, pictures, discourse, or
problem-based graphics. If examined closely, then the characteristics of
HOTS indicate the need for an unusual thought process or a more complex
thought that requires unusual effort as well.
