Abstract


Teachers' competencies in teaching process are very needed to increase students' learning interest. The students' learning interest is not far from how the teachers' skills in teaching are. The teachers' competencies consist of four competencies which have to be possessed by each teachers, including: pedagogical, social, professional, and personality competencies. This research aims to analyze the chemistry teachers' pedagogical
competencies toward the students' learning interest in MAN 1 Semarang city. The research was conducted in MAN 1 Semarang city. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach and the object is the students of MAN 1 Semarang city. Data collection techniques uses questionnaire, interview, and observation. The type of this research is descriptive
qualitative. The chemistry teachers’ pedagogical competencies influence the students' learning interest in chemistry. The better of teachers' pedagogical competencies, the more of students' learning interest in chemistry.
