Abstract

Split Air Conditioning (AC) capacity of 1pk generally used a vapour compression system, consisting of four main components, namely
compressor, condenser, expansion valve and evaporator. Usually this type of condenser using air cooled condenser where heat transfer from condenser to the sourronding forcibly carried out by the fan. There is another type of condenser namely water cooled condenser where heat transfer using water as media to cooled condenser.  The use of a Water Cooled Condenser will get better results of the Coeffisien Of Performance (COP) and efficiency or increased performance in a vapour compression refrigeration system compared to the use of an Air Cooled Condenser. This research will apply split AC condenser immersed in a water bath with conditioned water temperature. From the results of measurements and data processing carried out in previous studies using conditioned water obtained COPactual 4.6 to 4.8, and efficiency of 61,63% to 64,56%. System performance is strongly influenced by ambient temperature.
