PENGARUH LARUTAN ASAM FLUORIDA PADA PENCUCIAN MATERIAL MAGNETIK PASIR BESI PANTAI JOMBLOM
Abstract
This research has aims to determined the effect of fluoride acid solution on the magnetic material washing on iron sand in Jomblom Beach. The magnetic material was separated from the iron sand by using an external magnet and washed by aquadest, HCl solution, and HF solution 0.5 M.. Material characterization was performed by using Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) Spectrophotometer, X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD), and
X-Ray Fluoresence (XRF). The characterization results indicate was showed that washing of magnetic materials using H2O-HCl-HF 0.5 M did not affect the type of iron oxide on the Iron Sand Jomblom Beach. The washing of magnetic material of iron sand using H2O-HClHF 0.5 M resulted in a higher XRD intensity than the magnetic material of iron sand washed by H2O-HCl. The washing of material magnetic using H2O-HCl-HF 0.5 M can reduce the composition of silica oxide. The washing of magnetic material by H2O-HCl-HF 0.5 M yields crystallinity of 88,29 % and iron oxide composition of 80.32%.
