UJI ANTISEPTIK LIDAH BUAYA DALAM FORMULASI GEL PEMBERSIH TANGAN DENGAN MINYAK DAUN CENGKEH

Abstract


An antiseptic is a subtances that could inhibits the growth of pathogenic
microorganism such a virus, bacteria, and fungi. Aloe vera are composed by saponin and tannin which known as antiseptic compounds so its can be using as a substitute materials for triclosan that contains in hand sanitizer. This experiment are aims to proving the performances of an Aloe vera’s antiseptic in the formulation of clove’s hand sanitizer. The antiseptic test is using a replication method where the samples are formulated by the different variation of Aloe vera 0%, 8%, 10%, 12%, and 14% and treated the same thing as well in formulating sample containing Aloe vera only and clove leaf oils (CLO) only, just to known which ones are the best to be adding to the formulation of hand sanitizer. The result showing that the combination gel of clove leaf oils and Aloe vera are more effective to reduce bacteria instead of basic gel only (without CLO and Aloe vera) with 39:2 as a comparing result.
So the addition of Aloe vera to the formulation of hand sanitizer extract clove leaf oils are the best way to increase the ability of its antiseptic.
