EFFECTIVENESS OF EDUCATION USING AECP APPLICATION COMBINATION WITH AAS INSTRUMENTS

Abstract

One way to reduce patient anxiety is to educate patients for example by conducting health education. The use of technology can improve patient understanding. To see the effectiveness of education using a combination of AECP (Audio Education for Cataract Patients) applications with AAS (Analog Anxiety Scale). This research is a type of quantitative
research with Quasi Experimental and the design used is pretest posttest design without control group. Patients choose Javanese as the language of instruction for education. There was a significant difference in average anxiety scores before and after education (p = 0.00).
Preoperative patient anxiety decreases after education using the AECP application. The use of AECP application is effective in reducing anxiety of patients pre cataract surgery
