Abstract


Poverty is a complex problem that is experienced by all countries including Indonesia.
The province of Central Java is a province which has the highest poverty rate in the island of
Java in 2011-2016. This research aims to analyze the effect of GDP, HDI, population,
unemployment and foreign investments individually and together against poverty in Central
Java. Data retrieval is performed by means of document data in the Badan Pusat Statistik
(BPS). The next analysis is panel regression data estimation model. Data analysis is carried
out using Eviews software. The results of this research show that GDP negatively and
significantly affect poverty in Central Java, the HDI negatively and significantly affect poverty
in Central Java, population positively and significantly affect poverty in Central Java,
unemployment positively and did not significantly affect poverty in Central Java, foreign
investment positively and did not significantly affect poverty in Central Java and GDP, HDI,
population, unemployment, foreign investment collectively affect poverty in Central Java.
