UJI KADAR PROTEIN AIR SUSU IBU (ASI) DAN SUSU FORMULA PADA BAYI USIA 6-12 BULAN
Abstract
At the beginning of its growth, humans obtain protein to grow and develop from
breast milk (ASI). Breast milk is the best nutrition for babies. Breast milk contains
all the nutrients a baby needs to meet his nutritional needs during the golden
period and its contents are adapted to the conditions of each baby. There are still
many mothers in Indonesia who give formula milk to their children so that the
amount of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia is still relatively low. This
research was conducted to test breast milk levels of infants aged 6-12 months and
infant brands of formula X aged 6-12 months which are widely circulating in the
market. This study uses the kjehdahl method, determination of protein content by
the kjeldahl method is an indirect method, namely through the determination of
N levels in the material. There are 2 samples used in this study, they are
breastfeeding samples of 9 month old babies and samples of infant formula milk
X 6-12 months. Each sample was duplicated to improve the accuracy of the
experiment. The results showed that the average protein content of brand formula
milk was 8.76 while the content of breast milk protein for 9-month-old infants
was 3.48. Protein content in infant formula milk brand X 6-12 months is higher
than protein content in breast milk at the age of 9 months.
